Design and Build Process, Agreement and Charges
From when you first make contact to when your furniture is completed you will deal with just one person, me. Being just myself you will not be spending extra money on TV advertising, showrooms, and salespeople. I have found this to be a far more intimate way of working and leading to a product you really appreciate, as opposed to something that is being pushed by the salesperson of the moment. Here I would like to inform you of the process.
Enquiries and Estimations
After an enquiry is received, I will endeavour to give an estimated price of the work you are looking for. This is not always possible dependant on multiple factors. All estimates provided are not agreed upon prices. Moving forward a site visit will be arranged to gain the information needed for a full quotation.
The Planning Phase - Site Visits, Quotations and Amendments
I will then make a visit to your home to discuss the project and take any information required for a quote. Using the information provided I will then produce a set of drawings (where necessary) and a quotation. Please be aware of the following,
1st site visit and a basic set of drawings will be supplied free of charge with one set of revised drawings based on your comments.
Following site visits will be charged at a set rate of £45 (this allows for an hour), an additional hourly charge of £35 will then follow for further time on site.
Additional design work will be charged at £35 per hour.
Please be aware the drawings provided will not include any details such as measurements. This is to protect myself from the theft of design work which is sadly very common. A set of drawings with all measurements will be provided on request once a deposit payment has been made or can, at my own discretion, be supplied for a minimum charge of £250.
Deposit payments, Construction, and Installation
Deposit payments are set at 20% of the quotation and are non-negotiable and non-refundable.
By paying the deposit you are agreeing to the design, costs and Terms and Conditions.
Changes to agreed designs can incur extra costs.
We will agree a preliminary date for installation during the planning phase. Lead times can vary but will generally be between 8 - 12 weeks from the deposit payment being received to the time of installation.
The installation date will not be confirmed until a deposit payment has been received.
Installation dates are generally not moved but please be aware under special circumstances I may have to change dates. This will always be done in communication with you and to your best satisfaction.
Installations will be carried out in your home as close as possible to the area the furniture is being installed. I will require the maximum amount of space available within a room. I will always take extra care to protect rooms and their contents using dust sheeting and floor protection. I will thoroughly hoover after myself once the work is complete and endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum. Failure to supply a space to work resulting in delays could incur extra charges.
Installation times will be between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday
Final payment and payment terms
Upon completion of installation or delivery you will be emailed a final invoice to be paid within 7 days by bank transfer. Failure to make payment will result in an additional 10% of the total of the invoice being added every 30 days from the due date until the payment is recovered. Payment retention will not be accepted under any circumstances.
